Berbice qualify the unqualified

Does it pay to further your studies in Guyana?

On second thought all you need to do is get ‘a link in the place’ or ‘use your rank’ instead of pursuing your diploma or degree.

Yes! Of course! That is a better option! Because it seems as though, even if you have all or most of the qualifications and experience you can’t get the job if you don’t have ‘links’ or ‘contacts’ as they call them in Berbice.

The qualified are left without while the unqualified are getting the benefits…

Let us go down memory lane, to about four years ago. I had just left school with excellent grades. I vividly recalled that I hand delivered a job application at a particular government organization. I never got a response even though I knew that the organization had vacancies in and out.

Do not get me wrong, I am not hating. But some of the employees that are there currently, are now writing CSEC subjects that they did not succeed in.

Why deny someone who has got the qualifications for someone who is now going to get the qualifications?

This nonsense must stop!

  2. The truth is for persons in gt too. The employment issue is fluid. It's either you are over or uder qualified or too young or old, or too inexperienced or over value.
But I wish to stir up a new momentum for Guyana, particularly our future, the youths. Let's stop procrastinating and wishful thinking, to become our own job creators...
